- Kent, searching for Lear, meets a Gentleman (one
- of LearÆs original followers) who tells him that the
- king is out in the storm, accompanied only by his
- fool. Kent speaks of the quarrel between Albany
- and Cornwall, and the likelihood of a French
- invasion. He sends the Gentleman to Dover, giving
- him a ring to show to Cordelia. But first, they must
- find King Lear.
